Hello everyone, this is Dr. KC Dharam Kumar. I am a dermatologist, cosmetologist and director at Epiderma, Skin Clinic in Jayanagar, with over 10 years of experience in managing a broad spectrum of skin and hair care.
Today, I am here with a brand-new micro-blog series on Myth busters, where I will be quickly discussing a few things, everyone must know about skin care and I am going to debunk one myth in each of my micro-blog series
Internet is flooded with lots of information and it becomes very difficult to take any correct decision. When we type or search skin care tips in Google, we will get 2,89,00,00,000 results in just (0.69 seconds). It’s just amazing technology, is in it, but the biggest question arise as which information is correct
In terms of skin care there are lots of myths and advice and the fact is that a lot of skincare advice just doesn’t work, and some skincare myths can even cause harm.
Let’s get to the truth behind common skincare tips.
So, today in this micro blog I will be talking about one of the most common myths that Only Teenagers Can Get Acne and Pimples.
We have seen many teenagers will have acne and we are often told that during our teen age we will get more acne.
So let me debunk this myth.
The truth is that it is the myths and it is not correct. While it is true that teenagers get acne as they go through puberty and have fluctuating levels of hormones, they are not the only ones who can get it. Acne can occur at any point of our life cycle. Some of the most common reason or the culprits behind the acne are:
- Pregnancy and menopause (Hormonal fluctuation)
- Poor lifestyle habits
- Irregular eating habits
- Inadequate water intake
- Pollution etc.,
Conclusion:
Acne triggers are not age dependent.
Basic habits such as cleansing your skin twice a day, taking off your makeup at night, following a basic skincare routine, eating heathy diet can go a long way in achieving clearer and better nourished skin.
Note: Never do self-medication, do consult your dermatologist in Jayanagar for any skin related problems.
